I have been using a QRE and bought a QRE SL for my brother. Feels even lighter, shots are great. Lively blade.
I am not very experienced with hockey sticks, I only tried some low end stick, the Warrior Ak27 SL ($230), Bauer Vapor x900 Lite ($180) and this one, the Warrior Covert QRE SL ($300). I need to say that due to his low kick point and maybe because of his lower section reduction, the quick release is amazing. In comparison with the other stick I tried, I feel like this stick helps a lot to improve my snap shot power and accuracy. I keep improving my hockey skills every day, but when I am “in harmony” with the stick or on the same “wavelength”, the shot is literally destroying the net. I feel like some of my shots are as powerful as some guys slap shots. I never really tried the slap shot with this stick that I now have for 3 months. It took me about 2 weeks to adapt myself to the stick which reacts completely differently to the other sticks tried. The bottom of the stick feels very soft to me. The grip is good, not too sticky and it has nice textures along the shaft. About the stick balance feeling, the Covert QRE SL stick feels very well balanced compared to the AK27 (light shaft, heavy blade) and the x900 (heavy shaft, light blade). The dark design looks amazing ! For these reasons, I definitely recommend this stick to whoever do a lot of snap shot.
