The EK15 showed us what Sher-Wood, an underdog in the one-piece stick market, can really accomplish. Still the lightest stick on the market (along with the EK60), the EK15 nevertheless is priced $100 less than comparable top-end sticks from other manufacturers. With all the technology and attention to detail going into this stick, it's shocking that they could offer it at such a low price. Best of all, this twig is an absolute tank, in true Sher-Wood fashion. It's probably my most heavily used (and abused) stick to date, but it has considerably outlasted every other stick I've used, even my rock-solid T100. It's still stiff as hell and going strong today. The EK15 is a true shooter's stick. It's best suited to quick-release snapshots, as it has a very low kickpoint. The stick, due to its kickpoint and construction, plays pretty stiff, although this seems to be common to all Sher-Wood sticks nowadays. Still, it's a great shooter. Snapshots fly off the crisp and lively blade, and the stick can handle slapshots and heavy wristers just fine. However, the smaller shaft dimensions aren't perfectly suited to someone who likes a firmer grip on the shaft to load up on shots. I would say that the only disappointment I've had with this stick (apart from getting an 85 flex instead of a 75, which is totally my fault) is that the puck feel isn't as good as the first-gen T100. The EK15 feels pingy compared to the T100's dampened feel, although the puck feel is still acceptable. At the end of the day, this type of blade feel is to be expected coming from a super-light low kick stick like the EK15, Bauer Vapor series, Reebok/CCM Ribcor series, or the Warrior QR series. Overall, I think this is one of the best sticks ever made. The combination of quality, technology, attention to detail, and price is remarkable. If the EK60 really is a strengthened version of the EK15, it should be hard to beat.
This is a fantastic stick, very light but responsive. You feel puck on the blade, pucks shoot off the blade. You will not regret buying this stick!
